about

"The Deep Breath Before the Plunge" is a collection of instrumental songs written about a year ago. The name of the album, and many songs within it, come from quotes in the Lord of the Rings, the Great Gatsby, and various other personal inspirations. The album was composed with six string Music Man JP6 guitars in Drop C (CGCFAD), an Ibanez ATK3EX1 four string bass in Drop C (CGCF), and programmed drums using MIDI presets in Avid Pro Tools. The songs feature clean and distorted riffs utilizing tapping and harmonics along with standard picking. This is the first release by Istari, but a second album was written during its recording and it will be recorded and released within the year.
