about

"To Persist in Delusion" is the third album by the solo porgressive rock/metal project "Istari." Like the last album, "Grotesque Reality and Savage, Frightening Dreams," the tracks utilize seven-string Guitars, five-string Bass, and programmed MIDI drums. However, unlike the previous album, the lowest strings on both the guitar and bass are tuned down a whole step (guitar-AEADGBE, bass-AEADG). As for the album itself, the eight tracks mold together as each song transfers into the next by changing key or repeating past themes. The album is generally a concept album presenting a soundtrack to the universe. Specifically it is meant to give audible voices to the deep spacial objects in our everyday night sky. As for the title, "To Persist in Delusion" comes from a Carl Sagan quote disregarding strong religious views.
